RE7 was literally my introduction to these games. and now? they're some of my favorites to play

The only RE games I’ve played have been RE0 RE7 and I’m currently playing RE8. I hated RE0 and I will not be playing it again, and it took some time but I absolutely loved RE7

Being that this review was 7 years ago. I would agree at time of its release it needed some refinement. Since there were 3 improved updates for this game. However in order to smooth out the frames and the mechanics. There is ALOT of screen tear on this game. Now if you boot this game on the xbox one X. It will okay in 4K with no screen tear and be buttery smooth. Just sucks people had to wait for All these updates for the game to have some sort of buttery smoothness.

they def succeeded when it comes to making Elizabeth likable. shes the most memorable part of the game for me. she was very motivating from the perspective of the player, bc for me even before the twist was revealed i viewed booker as taking on a fatherly role for her.

resident evil will never be the same.. I been playing since PS1 with my introduction being that of RE: directors cut which was horrifyingly terrific, 2 was a great successor, 3 had an arcade action feel with the door kicking nemesis around any corner.. now this is where it gets sketchy... I'm not a fan of 4,5,6, and Village these sequels I played just because I enjoy the series but I will never play these titles EVER AGAIN.. "aka not my RE" I understand the change which was to bring in a new younger audience to the frontline of the franchise. Outbreak should have been expanded on, Revelations 1-2 was a good story. Code Veronica was interesting. Dead Aim should have stayed just an concept, Operations Raccoon lolz, 7 felt like they were getting back on track, but Village happened (-_-)... this franchise have forgotten the entire OG fanbase that even made them a success and catering to the action fans who were to PC to even play it. Guess I'm a silent hill fan now... at least they kept the heart in the series and true to the core base that made it successful.

Born in 2004, I knew of RE growing up but never played it. But after Resi 7, I am a fan, and the remakes are perfect for someone like me who gets to experience the old story and look forward to the new ones.

RE 7 was the first RE game I ever played. I was a complete stranger to the series until I saw the game on Xbox gamepass. I gave it a download and played it and let me tell you, from a newcomer to the series, it was a fucking smash hit, hands down one of the best games I've ever played. It ran relatively well on a first generation xbox one, making the game an immersion sinking machine. That combined with the games absolutely stunningly horrific and often times grotesque atmosphere made the game an instant favorite of mine. I sunk countless hours into RE 7 and it's dlc's on both console and pc alike. And after watching this video, I can come to appreciate the game even further now with how much passion and precision was put into the project. The execution was damn near flawless and they should be proud of themselves. RE 7 was a masterpiece that truly shaped the mold of future Capcom games, making amazing games as efficiently as possible, now that is something I can get behind. I would love to see a Greggory Horror show remake from modern Capcom btw. I watched a playthrough of it on UA-cam a looong time ago and I love that game's concept and atmosphere. Having a quality remake of it on pc would be legendary imo. It would be interesting to see what they could do with it now.

Fitzner went through literal development hell. Whatever could go wrong, DID go wrong. A director's vision is never perfected in reality, but dude this shit wasn't even sub par with his original vision for the game. And despite everything that happened Fitzner never gave up and even put his consumers and employees FIRST before himself, if that isn't the definition of an amazing boss, I don't know what is. Rest in peace, he was a good one.

How come some remasters feel much worse than a good graphics mod, there's been some graphic mod releases for old games that look way better than any remaster?

I completely agree with your thoughts on games defining genres that overlap. Your understanding of how gamers don't want to play with new mechanics is interesting. As someone who learned some programming and built a few basic websites its not easy. Still I cant help but wonder where games would we be today if we gave it our all :)

i liked bioshock infinite a lot and it helped my youtube channel but tbh ill always be upset about the million promises ken made & cut almost all of it. The was COMPLETELY different than advertised. Still went all out on the story in the best way they could, but of course then we get into story being plausible or not from various sciency people. Please dont ever do that again ken levine lol...

7 should’ve been great considering the main director fucked up previous resident evil games such as revelations and mercenaries 3D, I think if he messed this game up as well then he would’ve never gotten another chance
